Enrichment Experiences

BuildingHope Community Life Center Summer Camp Enrichment

This summer, I had the opportunity to work with Building Hope Community Life Center as a partner as part of the Brody Scholars immersion program. I was able to Design and implement STEAM-based educational activities for their youth summer camp, and integrate hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and art. With the help of others, I facilitated interactive sessions centered on healthcare careers and wellness, aiming to promote early exposure to health education and careers in underserved areas of my community.

Summer Scholar Emersion Program – Community Sponsorship

Back to School Supply Drive, BuildingHope, Greenville, NC – Summer 2025
Collaborated with BuildingHope and sponsored a back-to-school supply drive as part of my Summer Emersion Program, supplying 120 back to school bags meant to equip students with essential supplies for the upcoming academic year

LINC Scholar

As a LINC (Leaders in INnovative Care) Scholar I spent the summer between my M1 and M2 year learning about health systems science, patient safety, quality improvement, interprofessional team-based care, and population health through discussions, leadership interviews, and hands-on experiences in areas such as the Pitt County Health Department. Longitudinally, I will be working on a quality improvement project with the ECU Health Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Division Chief Lacy Hobgood.

CMDA President

CMDA is a national organization with medical school chapters throughout the country that seeks to bring the hope and healing of Christ through healthcare professionals. As a chapter, we want to walk alongside other students and the Greenville community to show how we can serve Christ while handling the rigors and challenges of medical school.

OBGYN Interest Group, Treasurer

This organization focuses on introducing Brody students to the OB/GYN specialty and educating students in the broad field of women’s care. This role has allowed me to network with OBGYN attendings and residents to learn more about how the OB/GYN specialty serves the women of Pitt County and other surrounding areas.

Upcoming Plans

I am looking forward to synthesizing all the didactic information provided to me as a pre-clinical student in my first year in a way that promotes my learning and application of clinical knowledge in the future. I look forward to being in fellowship with my classmates and growing alongside them as I learn to navigate the world of Brody and all the resources it can offer. It is my goal to be involved in the Greenville community through engaging with a local church and volunteering within my community.
